...intimate soothing to refreshing whimsy, jazzy smoothing to
gutsy bluesy, stories portrayed & emotions conveyed...
"My appreciation for music started when I was
just a little girl. Our family grew up in Detroit,
Michigan, charmed by many types of
music...Dad used to entertain us during long
trips by leading sing-a-longs in the car. My
sister & I had high sweet blending voices &
Dad would pop in with a harmony or two to see
if we could stay on key...At family gatherings
we would put on great harmony"
Soulfully Nostalgic Music with a Modern Flair
Paula performed folk & pop music as a
soloist, top-40 & oldies dance music in a duet,
later returning to nostalgia & show tunes as
a soloist again in more recent years. Her
writing has similarly spanned styles from folk
to adult contemporary pop, jazz & blues,
country-rock, additionally including some
child-friendly material. Always a strong
vocalist, her instrumentation stayed in the
background, allowing the audience to hear
the lyrics, and connect with the emotions of
any given song presented.
Paula has worn many hats through the years
from vagabond to wife, musician to agent,
creative soloist to board-member, teacher to
parent. Her life experience touches every
song and her every song touches someone's
life. Since releasing her debut CD
"Renewed" in October of 2007, she has been
working on a variety of new original pop
pieces that range in feel from positive
old-fashioned love songs to some
contemporary political issues. "Love Trilogy
in 3/4 Time" was released in February of
2010.
Future creative plans include publishing
illustrated story-songs, creating music gift
products, and writing original
songs/poetry/copy for others.
