Though currently a seasonal performer, Amber's interest in music activities blossomed in 5th Grade when she "debuted" as a soloist in the finale of Lead Mine Elementary's production of "A Whole Lotta'
Faintin' Goin' On" (musical revue of artists from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles).  Amber earned the first place award in the talent competition at West Millbrook Junior High, going on to be selected for the
North Carolina Honors Chorus five years in a row.  Amber has performed solos in judged competitions earning superior ratings, was a regularly selected soloist for Sanderson High School’s Broadway
Spring Concerts, was involved as a vocalist in the school's production of the Wizard of Oz, and participated in numerous capacities in school choral groups. She was the co-student director of Sanderson's
prestigious "Sandpipers" (the school's honors level mixed chorale) in 2000-2001.  As a member of the Sandpipers, Amber performed with the group in her Second Soprano section and as a soloist, in places
like the Governor's Mansion. Nortell, Springmoor Retirement Home, Memorial Auditorium for Pieces of Gold, & various competitions & festivals at ECU, Peace College, as well as during chorale group trips
to Chicago and Florida. Immediately after graduation she traveled to Italy with the Sandpipers to perform in a four-city tour (part of a music festival) which included a performance at the Vatican.  Amber
was also asked to perform several times as a soloist at the NC Bach Youth Festival.

Amber is continuing her self-directed major at NC State University this summer, while continuing to supports herself and promotes non-profit organization ME-3.  Amber & ME-3 have gained recognition for
their unique approach at encouraging volunteerism.  The group is currently gaining support for a non-profit curriculum in the public schools, assisting other non-profit organizations with volunteers,
planning, and events.  In 2007, they started their volunteer registry in Wake County, NC "
Communities in Action".  Plans are hopeful to become more widespread in order to offer national programs at some
time in the future.  Visit their website for further information:
www.me-3.org.  ME-3 has a new volunteer registry for Wake County non-profits & will expand to other areas in the future.  Amber & Paula
are currently working on writing lyrics & music for some theme songs for the non-profit.

Amber enjoys drawing as a side-line and accepts commissioned art projects from time to time.  This year she began writing some songs of her own.
